Rat Taxidermy Class

Impress your friends and worry your enemies with your new skills! Join us  Sunday Oct 20th and learn the fundamentals of taxidermy at @deadwoodcreatureart aka @i.art.the.d3ad ‘s Beginner Rat workshop! In this 3 hour intraductory course (+1 hour of additional studio time if you need it to finish😉) you will learn the basics of preserving, posing and mounting. No prior experience needed- just bring your curiosity!  All materials will be provided for this hands on experience, however if you have any props or outfits you’d like for your mount please bring them along and show off your creativity! You will leave the class with a step by step reference guide, an at home beginner taxidermy kit and your own Rat Masterpiece!  Workshop includes:

-Introduction to Taxidermy- a brief history

-Safety First- handling tools and safety

-Hands on demonstration: get up close to your specimen

-Expert Guidance: your expert instructor Autumn will be there to demonstrate and advise every step of the way

-Every Participant leaves with their own personal Mount

*Optional class add on- Wet Specimen Preservation class immediately after rat taxidermy class. This class is approx 1 hr and is only available to ticket holders for the beginner taxidermy class. Add on ticket is an additional $100, and student MUST provide their own organic respirator and goggles(Amazon Link). All other materials will be provided and you will leave with a second rat specimen and will be on your way to a well stocked Cabinet of Curiosities!
